Vanilla Franco – Traction: A bundle of ear candy distortions to hype you up

Vanilla Franco is a one-man band that keeps the alternative indie rock sound alive with their loud jams that will move you till your bones. Each word in his tracks are uttered with passion and vigor. If you are a fan of artists like Tame Impala, Mac DeMarco and Unknown Mortal Orchestra, you will be hitched to Vanilla’s discography. The rawness and boldness in their songs are a USP and helps them differentiate their sound. An artist who believes in plugging in and going loud, Vanilla Franco will blow your mind with his unfiltered lyrics and instrumentals that could move even a dead man. The artist has proved his versatility in his single Salt and also his latest album Walden where he showed us his mellow side.

“These distortions that Vanilla wants to make you listen will pleasure your ears in an uncanny way. Traction is an absolute banger start to finish.”

Vanilla Franco dropped an album called the “Traction”. The project is real loud. It starts with the single “Building Pressure” which is up tempo jam with punchy/highly saturated vocals with a lot of color. The chord selections are intense and the drums will make you wanna head bang.

The next track is Picnic which has an amazing hook which says “What did you see?”. This line stays in the listener’s mind long after the song ends. The dual note guitar counter in the background is for rhythm and add texture to the whole song. One of my favorites from the album is ‘The Arena”. The track starts with a punchy and distorted chord progression filled with energy. The song gives me a feeling of the main character giving his focused effort on a project. This track in my opinion can fit in any story line where the protagonist is trying to achieve something and strategically works towards getting it done.

Another favorite of mine is “Planes Trains”. The song starts with an LFO engaged on mid-frequency guitars which gives a unique texture to the track. Then comes the quiet part where the reverbed and echoed vocals are revealed. The accent in which the vocalist delivered his section is pretty unexpected and sounds amazing with the instrumentals.
