Ari Joshua – Rare Groove: Bounce! Bounce! The merry alt-jazz groove is here

I was blown away when I went through Ari Joshua’s discography and I am pretty sure you will be too. His music is like fine wine. It is a blend of various ingredients from the musical world like Jazz, Rock (both classic and alternative), and psychedelic jamband mixed in perfect proportions. This makes his music extremely unique as you never know what is about to come next. It could be a jazz influenced forced rhythm piano melody or a proper rock guitar riff which will turn you up. His songs for me are like a box of chocolates, if you know you know…

What a pleasant news; him, Delvon Lamarr, Skerik and Grant Schroff came along and dropped a real rare groove together. Each artist on the track are musical prodigies with a deep love for the art. When they are summoned together, the result is worth witnessing.

Rare groove

“Rare Groove interacts with the soul for real. The sounds and mini intense sections are pure ear candies.”

Ari Joshua along with Delvon Lamarr, Skerik and Grant Schroff dropped a singled called the “Rare Groove”. The song does justice to the name I would argue. Skerik’s Sax on the track stole the show for me but some would insist the guitars stood out for them. I’ll leave that for you(the listeners) to decide. The song starts with an echoed sound and jumps right in with low-sustain guitar chords and an immaculate sax melody. Soon enough you find yourself in the intensity of the small buildups the musicians created with the help of high tension melodies and a tight drum roll.

The soft/fast drums never loose the grip despite the heavy swing in some sections. Later, the guitar solo section comes in. The note selection for that part is out of the world. With rock influence the guitars ride on a jazz drum pattern creating a sound you most likely would not have had heard before. If I was allowed to exaggerate just by a percentage, the only thing I hate about the jam is that it ends. I was truly hooked to the track start to finish. If you are looking for a track to listen to after a long day at work, this one could become your comfort song.
