Cormac Liotta – I Bought A New Pedal: The other name for an EP crafted with pure wit and experimental music production

Cormac Liotta is a Los Angeles based experimental musician making modern style tunes with thoughtful lyrics that never miss to grab your attention and engage your brain for a while. One of my personal favorites from his discography is Timothée Chalamet. He talks about a girl who is obsessed with him and wants to pair herself with the guy while he is trying to push her away. The frustration and the awkward encounters are represented well by Cormac in a fun and savage style.

Some of his song titles read so random but don’t go by the name or you might miss a potentially unique sound you would listen to through Cormac Liotta. Here’s a perfect paradigm; one of his songs is called ‘From Horses, He Falls.’ The title is bound to grab a sane man’s attention. The experimental and fun approach that Cormac has towards music is what makes it attractive. His discography seem like an album Cormac is creating for himself to look back to. This enables him to put out an original sound not bound by genres or music styles.

“If you are eager to put you brain through a new experience of a real fresh music, do not sleep on Cormac Liotta.”

Cormac bought a new pedal and literally made an EP on it. As wild as it sounds, the EP will live up to the wildness it’s concepts brings. The EP starts with the song Olive. The extremely robotic and distorted vocals with bassy instrumentals sound close to hyper pop music. The blend of an intense electric guitar riff towards the end makes for a super nice way to introduce the EP.

The next up in line is song we talked about in the beginning. Yes, you guessed it right, ‘From Horses, He Falls.’ The song starts with a catchy one-shot and a punchy drum roll. The song features glued down and distorted drums which seem like the signature drum sound in the artist’s music. The song is more ‘not on your face’ if that makes sense. With a more chill vibe compared to the song we started off with.

The last song is ‘New Pedal’. The topic is self explanatory. He bought a new pedal and he talks about it. The lyrics say “I bought a new pedal, It makes my songs sound better this way…” Raw, witty and chill at the same time. The artist is basically telling a story about the chemistry he shares with his equipment, instruments and gear. Real music heads will understand.
