Brian Hadley is an independent alt-pop artist from New Jersey. ‘Mayday 13’ is his solo project which began in late 2022. For more than a decade Brian has been flourishing in the Philadelphia cover scene but he always kept in touch with original music. Drawing inspirations from artists like David Bowie, Band of Horses, Radiohead, M83 and Manchester Orchestra, He recently released his debut album “Dreaming is easy”, laying the foundation for his career in the music industry .

Packed with 9 incredible tracks having a dark undercurrent that entices you to look within and reflect as it explores the emotions one goes through in relationships. Albeit majority of the songs have a sad tonality, the messages embedded in the lyrics show a ray of hope for absolution.

The album opens with “Rheadish” a mesmerising prelude filled with slow soothing instrumentals, which is followed by “Nobody” which slowly draws you in with the dreamy vocals, and various instruments subtly kicking in as the song progresses. The track that really stood out for me was “A better way” with it’s somber vibe yet uplifting lyrics that elevate you by the time song reaches it’s end. But my personal favourite has to be “These days”.

This album is truly a work of art, it’ll have you contemplating, connecting and craving for more, Mayday 13 has dropped a divine debut and I can’t wait to see what more he has in store for us.
