A nu-music escape beat-driven track that’s about gushing over the one you love, this is a solid expression of love and the thought of how your heart loses it when you’re around this energy. This is a moment of trust and follow your gut, where the artist reflects how, regardless of how funny it looks, it’s all real from his side. This is a moment where the artist urges that where there’s love, there’s a natural sense of chemistry. The loved one just needs to keep all the doubts at stake, and no amount of doubts can take away this proactiveness now. This is raw and affectionate, and would definitely resonate with people from different demographics.

  1. Aurealis, this track is a literal art piece! Like something people should preserve in a museum! How did you make it so nostalgic yet so distant?
Ans- Wow, thank you for the kind words about Shadow of a Doubt! I think that nostalgic-yet-futuristic feeling is part of the core DNA of Aurealis. I’m drawn to the kind of pop music that stays with you – layered harmonies, big choruses that are fun to sing, and melodies that feel familiar in an emotional way – but I also love pairing that with modern, atmospheric, almost cinematic production. It’s really all about following the emotional direction the song wants to take in the end. With Shadow of a Doubt, it wanted to feel emotionally intimate, but also slightly out of reach, like a memory you can’t quite hold onto.
  2. What inspired the concept behind this release? because wow.
Ans – At its heart, Shadow of a Doubt is about emotional distance, uncertainty, and that painful feeling of sensing someone slipping away even while you’re still standing right beside them. It came from a very human place – the confusion of trying to hold onto something that no longer feels secure, and the ache of questioning whether what you felt was ever really as solid as you believed. I wanted the song to feel vulnerable, but still powerful and beautiful, almost like dancing through heartbreak instead of collapsing under it.
  3. I was blown away with the integration of nu-EDM kind of beat on this one! What did the creative journey on this track look like?
Ans- Shadow of a Doubt started with a feeling – an emotion that needed to be worked through – and then the song itself arrived in the middle of the night, like so many Aurealis songs do. Once the chorus and melody locked in, I built the rest of the song outward from that center. It became obvious pretty quickly that this track wanted to live in a more dance-driven space. That’s a huge part of Aurealis for me: music that lets you feel deeply, process emotion, and still want to move your body. I love when a song can carry sadness, tension, and beauty, but still make you want to get up and dance.
  4. How is your artistry different to the kind of music you personally love listening to?
Ans- In a lot of ways, it actually isn’t that different. I naturally create the kind of music I’m drawn to as a listener – emotional, melodic, layered, and rhythmically alive. I love songs that have atmosphere, strong vocal textures, and something deeper happening under the surface. The difference is that when I’m creating, I probably lean even further into the emotional and cinematic side of things. As a listener, I can enjoy a song casually. As an artist, I want every song to feel like a world you can step into.
  5. Could you name a few of your most-played artists of all time? And perhaps your favourite songs from them?
Ans- Oh wow, there are so many, but in general I gravitate toward artists with layered vocals, emotional depth, and music that either makes you want to tap your toe or get up and move. A few would be Heather Nova (London Rain, Heart & Shoulder), London Grammar (Wasting My Young Years, Strong), Kylie Minogue (everything!), Garbage (Paranoid, Special), Debbii Dawson (Happy World, Chemical Reaction), and of course ABBA – who have always had that rare gift of making music feel timeless, emotional, and irresistibly melodic all at once.

6. If you could advise yourself through the first few years of deciding to be a creator yourself, what would the top 5 things you say be?
Ans- 1. Stick to your dreams, even when the path looks unclear. 2. Believe in your own vision, even before anyone else fully sees it. 3. Don’t let the negativity of others dim your light. 4. Don’t give up just because the journey takes longer than you expected. 5. Surround yourself with people who genuinely lift you up and want to see you grow.
