Philip La Rosa is a Perth-based artist who spent his childhood mimicking dance moves from music videos and performing for anyone who’d watch, eventually landing roles in Cruisin’ the Musical and singing alongside Australian artists on Telethon. When he returned to releasing music in 2016 with his EP, “Strong”, it was clear he had something to say. Tracks like “Pride” became anthems for the LGBTQ+ community. He’s been on a tear ever since, using his platform to shine a light on mental health and queer representation.

“When the city of angels forgets to mention the price of admission.”
“Glitter & Gold” is La Rosa’s ninth release this year. Written after a reflective trip to LA and produced in Perth by Nic Rollo, the track tackles that specific brand of disillusionment that only comes from chasing dreams in a city that sells fantasies for a living. La Rosa is genuinely wrestling with the gap between expectation and reality, between the person he thought he’d become and the person staring back at him in the rearview mirror of a broken-down car. It’s the kind of track that works equally well on a late-night drive or a chill alt playlist, fitting company for fans of Troye Sivan and LANY.
With a twelve-single monthly release plan locked in for 2026, La Rosa clearly isn’t slowing down. “Glitter & Gold” proves he’s got the chops to keep up with that ambitious schedule while maintaining the authenticity that makes his music worth coming back to.
