The Lazz recently released ‘The Crown’, opening Act IV: The Return in the project’s ongoing Jungian-inspired metal series. Led by Ben Lazzaro, a composer and guitarist with more than 40 years of performance experience, The Lazz combines modern metal with a strong visual and conceptual identity. Lazzaro is also a formally trained visual artist and spent 13 years working as a 3D Digital Artist in the video game industry, so he knows how to create a visual identity in his tracks as well. He also writes, composes, arranges, and masters the music himself, so let’s witness his magic in his latest track.

“A crushing modern-metal track where heavy riffs, contrasting vocals, and a darker concept collide.”
Listening to ‘The Crown’, the first thing that grabbed me was how heavy and rhythmically tight the track feels. The grungy riffs give it a head-nodding groove while keeping the energy aggressive, and what else would you want from a hardcore rock track? I like the way The Lazz moves between groove metal, metalcore, djent, thrash, and power-metal influences. The contrasting male and female vocals add another dimension and give the track a complement to the dense guitars and heavy rhythmic sections. I love how the track creates a cinematic edge in your mind, and you should experience it yourself.
