Sacha Mullin has released his latest track ‘Social Touch’. Sacha is a Chicago-based singer-songwriter and educator known for his commanding yet vulnerable vocal style and wide-ranging voice. His music brings together pop, jazz, and experimental sounds, often built around angular melodies and rich, adventurous arrangements. His influences include Kate Bush, Joni Mitchell, and Geike Arnaert, while his work has also drawn comparisons to David Sylvian and Jeff Buckley. With ‘Social Touch’, his fourth album, Mullin takes art-rock songwriting into a more pop-forward space while keeping the adventurous musical character that makes his work distinctive.

“A beautifully restless record where pop meets feeling, freedom, and a little mystery.”
There is something wonderfully unpredictable about ‘Social Touch’. It feels like Sacha Mullin is letting himself have fun with pop with an unusual flow, and I love this approach. The album carries a dreamy, slightly restless energy, with melodies that can feel delicate one moment and suddenly open up into something much more expressive. What I really enjoy is the way the music leaves room for Mullin’s voice to take the lead. His vocals are absolutely beautiful, with the tension that keeps you on the edge and vulnerability that makes every moment relatable.
Tracks like ‘Joy’ and ‘Don’t Wanna Hurt U’ bring a more direct pop feeling, while ‘Hypocenter’ adds another layer through Emily Bindiger’s backing vocals. There is also a playful side to the record. ‘Bed All Day’ and ‘MIME’ bring their own character, keeping the album from settling into one predictable mood. The arrangements are where the album becomes particularly interesting for me. There is plenty of texture and harmonic detail that makes it melodious to hear. There are themes of connection, emotion, uncertainty, and relationships running through it, but Mullin leaves enough space for listeners to find their own meaning. It’s an album that has many flavours for you to enjoy if you want to sit back and taste them all. I find this discovery very fresh and authentic, and so, I want you to experience the magic this amazing artist creates here. Go give this one a try, and you will definitely thank us for the recommendation later.
