A genre-defying force of power and a symbol of feminine energy emerging, Exzenya recognises herself as a global artist who’s here to win and conquer your mind. As someone whose artistry comes off as bold, emotional and unpredictable, you’ll explore harmonies that also make you see through moments of raw vulnerability. From every track introducing topics that feel personal and intentional, let’s see what this new song’s about!

A moment of storytelling that feels like an echo of one’s thoughts as they get intimidated by underconfidence, this is the story of bravery and survival.
A track that explores the complexity of having a voice but also fears to consume you as you take a stand for yourself and your loved ones, ‘The Fans Applauded’ is a deeply inspiring notion that feels like a mirror to reality. The initial silence of not knowing what you’re doing, the fear of analysis paralysis consuming you as you stand afraid, this not only explores the daunting moment of stage fright but also coming out as a survivor through it all; this is a narrative masterpiece. Exploring the depths of the journey, I feel like it teaches you to do what you have to do anyway, regardless of the fear, because that’s how you overcome it.

We got a chance to interact with the artist and learn more about them and the release. Here are all the insights we got!: –
1. This release explores a theme of life we only witness in movies. How did you actually turn it into a music marvel?
Ans- It does feel very cinematic — that frozen moment on stage, the internal panic, the shift when the crowd lifts you. For me it wasn’t invented; it’s a scene I’ve lived in my head for years because of my own severe stage fright.
I turned it into a song by staying completely honest to the feeling. The production starts stripped-back and hollow so the fear feels real, then builds naturally as the imagined audience response comes in — exactly like the progression in the lyrics. The vocals follow the same arc: contained and shaky at first, then opening up with that ragged breath and fearless rage.
Because my brain has always worked in moving pictures, I could see and feel the entire scene while recording. That visual-emotional truth, combined with the space I left in the arrangement, is what makes it feel like a marvel. It’s not overproduced — it’s the real internal movie brought to life in sound.
2. What are defining moments in your life that got you into music? Like how did you know it was your true calling?
Ans- Music has been part of my soul since I was very young. My mother was a concert violinist, so I grew up going to symphonies and orchestras with her across the state. I was surrounded by live classical music and instruments from early on.
I’ve also been a writer my whole life — poems, stories, and even songs since I was a child. My brain has always worked in moving pictures: memories, emotions, and experiences play like full scenes from a movie inside my head. That’s simply how I process and feel life.
For decades I poured that creative energy into building businesses — I’m a CEO, entrepreneur with several national and international companies, an investor, a mother, and a grandmother. But music always called to me. It touches my soul like nothing else ever has.
The defining shift came in the last couple of years when I finally decided it was time to face the fear and do something real with it. I started vocal lessons, learned music production programs, and taught myself how to turn lyrics into full instrumentation. “The Fans Applauded” is part of that journey. Once I began releasing music and saw people connecting with these deeply personal moments, I knew without question that this is my true calling. It’s the fullest expression of everything I’ve carried inside for a lifetime.
3. How do you overcome creative roadblocks in your journey?
Ans- I don’t really force the creative process — it comes to me at random times. It might hit while I’m working out at the gym, driving in the car, or in the middle of other work. When it does, I stop and capture it right away — sometimes I sing the melody or lyrics into my phone recorder, other times I pause and start writing it out.
Writing usually comes quick and easy for me. Sometimes I get little partial bits and pieces, other times a full piece pours out at once. Anything can trigger it — a feeling, a memory, a scene playing in my head, a song that comes on — so I’ve learned to go with it whenever the moment arrives.
As a busy CEO, entrepreneur, and mother/grandmother, I’ve learned to honor those random sparks even when life is full. That flow has served me well, and it’s how songs like “The Fans Applauded” come together — by staying open and ready when the creative energy shows up.
4. Out of all the artists that are gaining hype right now, who do you look up to the most and why?
Ans- I love so many different artists and genres — that’s why my music mixes styles depending on what the song calls for. Right now I’m really drawn to Teddy Swims because of his raw emotional delivery and incredible vocal range. He brings so much heart and authenticity to every performance.
I’ve also long admired P!nk for her powerful voice, honesty, and fearlessness both musically and personally. And of course Disturbed — their version of The Sound of Silence was a direct inspiration for “The Fans Applauded.” That dark-to-powerful build and emotional intensity is exactly the feeling I chase in my own work.
What I look up to most in all of them is the ability to stay true to the emotion and connect deeply with listeners, no matter the genre. That’s what matters most to me.
5. If you could only listen to one song your entire life, which one would it be and why?
Ans- Honestly, this is a really hard question for me. I can’t imagine listening to just one single song for the rest of my life — it would drive me absolutely insane! I get bored and impatient with repetition, and I love variety too much.
If I absolutely had to pick one, it would probably be Disturbed’s version of The Sound of Silence. That song moves me every single time. The dark, hollow beginning and the powerful build perfectly capture the emotional journey I wrote about in “The Fans Applauded.” But even then, I’d be cheating a bit because I could listen to whole albums by Disturbed, Queen, P!nk, Teddy Swims, and so many incredible artists from the 70s and 80s (and every decade since) without getting tired.
I’m just a big lover of music across all genres and eras — there are far too many songs and artists I adore to ever choose just one forever.
6. If you were not a musician, what would have given you a similar sense of escape?
Ans- This is a tough one for me because I’m still very new to fully stepping into music as an artist. Singing and writing give me the deepest fulfillment — they touch my soul and mind like nothing else. Songs feel like poetry in motion to me.
As for a true sense of escape… I don’t really have one yet. I get lost in my own thoughts, which play like movies in my head, but even then I’m usually focused on business of some kind. I love writing business visions, poetry, stories, and songs. I also enjoy travel and experiencing other cultures and people, but that’s often tied to business too.
With so many ventures going on as a CEO, entrepreneur, investor, mother, and grandmother, I haven’t really trained myself to detach or unwind from daily life and stressors. When I try to relax, I often end up creating something new instead. I’m hardwired to keep building — for myself, my children, and future generations through sovereignty, wealth protection, and generational wealth. I’m not sure yet what real escape or unwinding will look like when (or if) I ever reach that point. It’s one road I’ll have to discover when I get there.
