- This release feels very personal. What was that moment/incident in your life that inspired this masterpiece?
Ans- “Runways” is an electro-pop track that explores love in a world constantly in motion—drawn from the rhythm of airports, departures, and the emotional pull between distance and connection. It began with a simple idea that stayed with me: Every runway is a moment where you leave something behind… and take off into the unknown. From there, the song evolved into a story about love in transit—relationships that exist across cities, time zones, and fleeting moments in between. It reflects those in-between spaces where goodbyes, reunions, and life-changing decisions quietly unfold. At a deeper level, runways became a metaphor for life’s turning points—those moments where we let go of fear, embrace uncertainty, and choose to move forward. At its core, “Runways” is about connection that endures—no matter the distance.
2. How do you think your artistry has evolved?
Ans- I began with a multilingual cover song EP, and over time, I’ve grown into a singer-songwriter, composer, and producer. What has shifted most is my relationship with the music I create. I’ve moved from exploring sound, storytelling, and identity to creating with clarity and intention—where every element serves a purpose. Today, I think in terms of emotion, space, and narrative—how a song feels as much as how it sounds. More importantly, I’ve learned to create with depth and meaning, and to truly own my voice. That, for me, has been the most defining part of my evolution.
3. If you could share 5 things with Seema who just started music, what would those be and why?
Ans- Authenticity above everything. Don’t follow trends—learn to be yourself. Your raw voice and individuality are what will truly set you apart. Don’t chase fame—build your identity. When you focus on creating something original, people are naturally drawn to you. Your uniqueness becomes your strength. Learn the language of production. Not to control everything, but to express your vision clearly and confidently. Be patient with your growth. Every phase—uncertainty, exploration, even doubt—is shaping your artistic journey. Trust your instincts. Even when they challenge you. Those moments often lead to your biggest breakthroughs.
4. Apart from music, what are some hobbies/activities you find joy in?
Ans- I’m a designer by background, and that perspective naturally stays with me—I tend to experience music through a design lens, thinking in terms of texture, space, and flow. I also enjoy the adrenaline I get from tennis and my workouts—they help centre me and bring me back into focus. At the same time, I’m drawn to slower, more grounding moments—being around nature, or simply sketching. It really depends on my mood, but I value that balance between movement and stillness—and how both, in different ways, feed my creativity.
5. If you were not a musician, what would you be doing right now?
Ans- I would still be creating—just in a different form. Interior design would be my primary path, but I see myself naturally moving into creative direction—shaping spaces, experiences, and narratives. For me, it’s never just about the medium—it’s about how something makes people feel.
6. If you could collaborate with any artist, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Ans- While I’m open to any collaboration and have many faves. I’m especially drawn to artists who have a distinct voice, a strong sense of identity, and the ability to blend styles or even languages seamlessly.
Etta James — for her raw, timeless soul
Norah Jones — for her intimacy and restraint
Laufey — for how she reimagines jazz for a new generation
A. R. Rahman — for his ability to fuse global sounds while staying emotionally rooted
Lady Gaga — for her fearless artistry and constant evolution
Adele — for her emotional honesty and timeless vocal storytelling
Dua Lipa — for her global pop sensibility and sonic clarity
Christina Aguilera — for her vocal power and expressive range
Each of them creates music that feels deeply personal, yet universally understood—and that’s something I continually strive towards in my own work.
