Stylus is an awe-inspiring sonic journey that has quite a lot of interesting twists and turns in songs. ‘Addition By Subtraction’, the introductory track is a fun-loving notion of fast-paced celebratory drums which talks about reflecting on life 7 the relationships, the adds and simultaneously subtracts that keep on happening in social life. ‘Mulberry Drive’ reflects the same feeling of wanting to explore life freely while also being nostalgic about it . This is poetic, playful and passionate. We try to bend ways with ‘Changing the Way I feel’, here’s where it gets a little personal. Through this track artist talks about how human it is to start something and never finish it, to think about millions of possibilities for something but never being able to act on them. This truly has the strong appeal that the artist is referring to in its lyrics. Following this kicks in the paranoia and slow fear with ‘Hopium’. Thinking about the what-ifs and maybes, this is where we try to think through. ‘Race To The Bottom’ reflects on the fact that to get to the top, everyone touches the bottom of the corpus of opportunities once. While the hype of David Lebental has evolved deeply from his first compilation, with this, he finally revives himself not just as an artist but as a growing force in the music scene.

‘I Can Always Count On You’ touches upon the harsh realities of our society and people in the artist’s life. How stuff’s always too important or urgent when it comes to them, and how they always let him down. This is a clapback at the toxicity in the world around us. ‘Mindy Please’ is an adorable break of storytelling. It’s vivid, nuanced, and the backdrop takes it to another level. ‘True Understanding’ is an ode to finally finding your person in life. It makes you realise how beautiful and surreal the feeling of having someone who understands you fully. Its passionate, smooth-flowing and almost serene to listen to. ‘Not Exactly As You Planned’ follows a similar landscape. It’s subtle, but it makes you walk in life with a sense of caution, as almost nothing turns out the way you plan. Lastly, with ‘You Figure It Out’, the artist ends the album in the most apt manner possible. It gives you the belief that, despite the ebbs and flows in life, you are capable enough to work around and move past life on your own.
