Everything but the Everything – A & B Sides Vol. Two: Punch of rhythms to start your day with

Everything but the Everything started off as a one man band by the alternative new wave post punk artist from Oakland- Izzy The Gent. Eventually it became a studio collective who progressed to performing live. During live shows, the band is fronted by extra ordinary vocalists- Sophia Prise and Tobias Hawkins. The instrumentals are looked after by guitarists- Ian Dowd, Drummer Chad Roxxit and Izzy. They Have been creating a sound very fresh. The modern-retro touch creates a vibe unmatchable. They are not afraid to experiment with their instrumental and the vocals. The mysterious, shiny and ambient feel created by the band is perplexing.

Everything but the Everything

“Songs worth starting your day with- Everything but the Everything’s A & B Sides Vol. Two will give you the hype to get you up and going. The energizing and vibrant musicality is pretty astounding.”

A & B Sides Vol. Two is an EP which speaks volumes in terms of vibes and feels. The high energy drums with groovy rhythms will set your mood and the bright melodics will please your soul. The female vocals on the tracks are impeccable. The smooth vocal modulations will take you on a ride. The vocal processing style is also very wobbly and vintage which adds another dimension to the track. The first song is called Hotshot. For me, the psychedelic guitar riff stood out in the track. The riff put me on a trance and it felt so beautiful.

The second track is much more intense and upbeat. The higher segments that the vocalists hits on this one is extra ordinary. The distorted guitar adds texture to the track. This one is a dramatic rock jam that would make your heart race and engage your mind totally. The abrupt ending of the track was unexpected for me but that left me waiting for more.

I couldn’t help but look for more music by the band. A track that I absolutely loved was the one called- In Love… Again (feat. Golden Plates). The muddy and distorted vocals seem out of place by weirdly in place too. The dreamy and radio sound of the track just gravitated me towards it. Listen to their music and you will surely find something you relate with or vibe with.
