Artist Kid Lazuras delves on the most profound and sinister issues confronted by a society beset by uncertainty. The UK is the birthplace of this young artist. With a hint of rawness thrown in, Kid Lazuras offers songs that are confident, engaging, and intelligent. Kid Lazuras creates a one-of-a-kind sound by fusing genres and meanings, drawing inspiration from a wide range of musical traditions, including post-punk, electronica, new-wave, indie, rock, soul, and R&B.

“The fragility of “Masochist Daydream” reverberates in our ears.”
Kid Lazuras takes a more stripped-down approach on “Masochist Daydream,” after the success of their previous single “Words Are Just Another Way To Hide.” While there are some similarities to “Words Are Just Another Way To Hide”—for example, the bluesy flutter that slides through the melody—the vulnerability that resounds in “Masochist Daydream” is more genuine. The acoustic piano moves rhythmically with the tinkles of electronic rhythms, creating a harmonious blend of natural and artificial sounds. Maybe “Masochist Daydream” has an acoustic-influenced, stripped-down quality due to the piano’s prominent role. On the other hand, the eerie tune might be due to the stripped-down voices. It delves into the lies we tell ourselves to cover up the possibility that we revel in hurting ourselves. This song has both male and female vocalists. While the lower male tones give a sincere feeling of introspection, surrender, and denial in reaction to the shaking tumult, the light feminine voices interpret inner demons. The intertwining of male and female vocals highlights the differences between our inner monologues of denial, surrender, and contemplation, while the ethereality of the music highlights its internal concentration.
Included on Kid Lazuras’s forthcoming second studio album, “Masochist Daydream” sets the stage for the band’s trademark emotionally charged, experimental, and esoteric sound. Catch the muse down here.
