Hailing from the bay area, Jake had an inclination towards music since he was merely a five-year-old. After creating his own major at Berklee where he founded Drunken logic, Jake moved to L.A for his future endeavours. Drunken Logic has always been a balancing act — between indie rock, piano and guitar pop, and Americana music, as well as with personal truth, scathing wit, and a quest for compassion. It’s similar to stumbling home from the bar at the end of the night. However, frontman and songwriter Jake Cassman has never let juggling these various influences and interests stop him from being a prolific writer and performer, touring the nation and putting out three full-length albums. In the past ten years, Drunken Logic has gained national recognition for their electrifying live performances, brilliant musicianship, powerful lyrics, and numerous award-winning music videos.

A beautiful satire with cleverly crafted lyrics that will make you relate, introspect and reflect.”

Rounding up is another such meticulously balanced track by Drunken Logic.
In “Rounding Up,” we are posed with the issues of the contemporary dating culture from a male perspective, where dating is a minefield and none of us are wearing enough protection. The constant search for something new, something better never allows us to be at peace as the song goes “Rounding up won’t make a whole of you”. The song beautifully captures the male paradigm when it comes to dating, how it has become an incessant cycle, a game, where men mess up and apologise but never learn from their mistakes. How men throw around meaningless I love you’s, empty promises and fake apologies. By the time men are done a woman ends up losing her sense of self. A beautiful satire with cleverly crafted lyrics that will make you relate, introspect and reflect. All of this backed by the enigmatic music which is where Jake Cassman never fails to deliver. We highly recommend giving this soulful track a spin.
