There are songs, and then there are songs like “KosmoX” that make you smile at the story while quietly making you question the world around you. From the moment Baïki’s latest release, “KosmoX,” begins, it becomes clear that this Belgian rock outfit is doing much more than simply delivering another energetic track. The way the band collates ideas, stories, and social observation before each track just shows how much effort they put in, even before they hit production. Moving between languages gives their music a borderless quality, as if the stories matter more than where they come from.

Even with “KosmoX,” they create a playful sci-fi universe, but the more I sat with it, the more I realised the song is really about us. The central idea is clever and slightly unsettling: “would humanity finally unite if we all shared the same enemy?” I loved how the song balances humor and commentary. The alien-colonisation narrative feels entertaining, yet every scene seems to carry a deeper meaning. The rock instrumentation gives the track a driving energy, almost like a soundtrack to an intergalactic adventure unfolding in real time. Even though every part of the song was flawless, what stayed with me was the irony woven throughout the track. It raises questions about conflict, power, expansion, and human nature without ever sounding heavy-handed.
