Suzanne Grzanna continues to release new music across genres, and “Cat’s Meow XO” is one of her finest creations. Hailing from the States, Suzanne is an award-winning songwriter, saxophonist, vocalist, arranger, producer, music publisher, and sync music library creator who composes both music and lyrics. Her background in jazz, performance, and instrumentation really shows in the confidence and smoothness of her tracks. The way she blends vocals and saxophone together feels very natural, almost like both are extensions of the same emotion. You can hear years of experience in how comfortably she moves through different jazz styles without making it sound forced. Even with all the technical skills involved, Suzanne keeps the music warm, personal, and very easy to connect with.

“When you listen to Suzanne Grzanna, it feels like her saxophone and vocals are having a romantic conversation.”

“Cat’s Meow XO” feels more like a full late-night atmosphere than a collection of separate songs. It leans into modern jazz but keeps weaving in bossa nova, swing, and soft Latin textures, giving it a slightly global, lived-in feel. The opening track, “New Year Romance” immediately creates a classy and romantic city-night mood that sets the tone for the rest of the album. The title track, “Cat’s Meow XO,” stands out because of its sultry Latin flavour and the effortless chemistry between her vocals and saxophone melodies. The album has a very spacious production style where every instrument gets room to breathe and shine at different times. Just when you praise the cohesiveness of “Cat’s Meow XO,” “Deck the Halls in the Mirror” comes in with a dreamy and hypnotic feeling through its slower, saxophone-driven arrangement.

Tracks like “Moment in Time” bring a brighter retro-style energy that keeps the album from becoming too mellow. “Snow City” gives the project an immersive and cinematic texture that feels almost visual while listening. The instrumental pieces never feel like fillers because they carry just as much emotion and atmosphere as the vocal tracks. One of the strongest things about this release is how patient it feels, allowing moods and melodies to slowly unfold naturally. The music feels smooth and sophisticated without ever becoming difficult or distant for casual listeners. The album works best when listened to fully because the flow between tracks creates a relaxing and immersive experience. In short, if you are looking for a collection that is smooth, immersive, and emotionally warm, “Cat’s Meow XO” is for you.
