Hailing from Rotterdam, Netherlands, Shortout Kid is emerging as an exciting new muse for the world of dark wave in rock, and we’re here for it! As someone who’s been heavily inspired by the iconic legendary faces of this industry, like Mozart, who taught him how to play a chainsaw, Jimi Hendrix for instruments and Kurt Cobain from Nirvana, who got him into sampling in music, his sound is an amazing reinterpretation of his idols and is a growing ferocious force to be reckoned with. Without any further ado, let’s dive right in into his electrifying rock sound!

An eerie but dynamic rock melody that just hits like a different frequency every time you hear it, this has got anthem energy!
What starts slow, this slowly builds up to a distorted crash of instruments that feels out of the world the first time you hear it. At first, your brain is unable to comprehend the song, but as the beat progresses, it is followed up by Kurt Cobain’s style of vocals that provide a sense of dreaminess and depth to this chaos. Upbeat, sophisticated and thrill-packed, this low-key feels like an escape of its own kind. It’s wild, carefree and dramatic, but more so, very inviting and refreshing to listen to. I personally think this will really stand out to a rockhead for its nuance.
