As someone who started as an artist pretty late, Mangy Mutt is a growing force whose music is centred around multiple complexities of psychology and unfiltered truth. Operating under his own label, Mangy Mutt Productions, he aims to move away from the straight production pipeline and isn’t afraid to showcase the scars of hard lessons he learnt, thereby becoming the epitome of the phrase ‘there’s beauty in pain’. His will to faithfully deliver chronicles of cycles of survival is what truly makes him stand out.

Nothing but beautiful moments of storytelling packed with the most apt emotive backdrops, this project feels like an inclusive colour palette, as it has something for everyone!
Bringing you the full circle music moment from the artist, the album was recorded and produced by the maestro Gareth Hudson at Hazy Cosmic Jive Studio, and here’s how we felt listening to it. We start this album with a mellow rock mystery of the intro songs ‘ Old Familiar Game’ and ‘Not Even Love Stayed’. While the lyrics on the first song scream the scenes of danger and thrill, while the backdrop gives off vibes of pure adventure, the second song is just a moment of sorrow reflection of losing everything and also your loved one as life progresses. Leaving one with emotions of paranoia, this, in fact, is just the trailer to the devastating realms of pain one experiences as the album progresses.
‘Leave the Light On’ is an even elevated moment of being haunted by the sour memories of what life used to be. But we also witness the ensemble of hope with the ‘Land of Make Believe’. This track feels like a moment of sunbeams after a thunderstorm. Talking about positivity and a belief to survive, this feels like a warm and cosy hug. ‘Count Your Blessings’ furthers this energy as it asks the listeners to keep moving, and steadiness just makes you miss out on the surreal imagery life has to offer. It is fresh, rejuvenating and would make one relive all the rad and sad moments of their life like a movie!
Last but not least, we close this wholesome sonic chapter with ‘Cast A Shadow On The Sun’, which is about daring to be different and the eye of the storm when life is rough. Overall, I feel like this album will be a really good introduction to Mangy’s musical magic, and I’m pretty sure it’s bound to get you hooked!
