Mortal Prophets is a group of talented musicians led by John Beckmann. They create sounds of melancholy, blues or sadness, however you wish to call it. The deep, intriguing sounds will kindle the dark emotions inside your head. Thus, one should be cautious while listening to their music if they are not in the right state of mind. The sounds are dark yet comforting. This kind genre-bending music is an example of the new generation of musicians who are not afraid to experiment and express themselves as they really are through their music. The wobble effect is quite commonly seen in their music. Various textures and a sport with various frequency spectrums can be seen in the music. The Mortal Prophets are redefining what all can be expressed through music and music alone without any lyrics, vocals and explicit themes.

“Brian Eno In Heaven EP came out directly from the abandoned dungeons. The dark theme is what most tracks revolve around and full justice is done with the sound and the melodic approaches.”
My personal favorite from the EP is Mesmer On Holiday. It starts off with a wobbly lead sound that creates a repetitive melody. Full of reverb and space, the instruments capture the whole stereo atmosphere. Then creeps in the groovy high-pitched perc. It comes in unexpectedly yet hit just at the right spot.
The last track from the EP is titled after the EP itself. It a is comparatively more happy and bright sound track. As the name contains the word heaven, the track rightly represents how heaven would really feel like. The pluck sounds create the lead for the song and high sustain pads along with a reversed counter creates the ambience around the main lead. The song eventually gets more crowded and more muddy preparing up for a cleaner and brighter section afterwards.
The EP has other tracks like- Swimming With Witches and Fraulein Anna Sprengel which are yet again ambient and intense track with multiple switches. The tribal perc sounds used in the later travel left right on the stereo plane. It adds a bounce and a softer texture to the track. The whole EP is a journey you would really enjoy. Sit alone and put on your headphone to dial into the dark side of your unexplored mind.
