Jonathan Grow is a product of childhood choir engagements, personal musical endeavors and auxiliary musical inputs in other’s projects. He is a grand cinematic composer who started off as a self-taught pianist and vocalist. His tracks more than often are nomenclature in French. He touches various human emotions and translates what cannot be expressed by just words into notes on the keys. His music ignites the light inside oneself that senses the energies around. His ambient composition style will take your mental state from peace to excitement to happiness to ambiguity. These pleasant vibrational swings almost feels like magic as I personally realized how much can be expressed with just one instrument and no words.

“The magic in Jonathan’s notes will make your soul feel like the ocean waves on a full moon night.”
The EP 3 by Jonathan Grow is a 3 piece extended play which starts off with a subtle yet impactful intro song- Les Trois Vies de Marie-Laure. The track has textured notes with heavy swing in the beginning which sound intense and mysterious. The composition later develops into a more happy section which is followed by some ambient silence. All the tracks in the EP are in the count of 3.
The second track Le Vol has a lot of substance as the beginning suggests a very deep vibe followed by more structured, catchy melodies. Jonathan then plays with the octaves further into the track and plays the hook again in the lower spectrum.
My favorite however from the EP is the last track- Devenir (Meaning becoming in French). The track starts with more playful and immature melodies which represent the starting days of Jonathan as an artist when he was more boyish and innocent. The track embodies the journey of Jonathan as a musician into a more mature and complex musician. A the track proceeds, the composition becomes more natural, smooth and mature. Later percussions come in adding some more grove and cinematic experience to the track. He also made a heavy drop in the end of the track which is full of energy and vastness. The EP then concludes but the impact it had on me would not conclude for quite some time for sure. Listen to it yourself and find out.
