“papilio” is a 15-track project that is being released in sequence as a 4-part series throughout the year. The project focuses on the theme of reflection, as Pariston imagines the life of a butterfly. The four parts of the project represent different stages of life: Larva (child), Cocoon (younger years, going to school, being shielded by a bubble), Butterfly (rebirth, complexity as seen in the new wing patterns, and beauty born from shedding your innocence like a butterfly). Pariston explores a variety of genres on “papilio,” including hip hop, rap, hyper pop, emo trap, rock, pop punk, alt-rap, and alt-pop. This diversity of genres reflects the complexity of youth and the many different ways that young people experience the world.

Ace Pariston’s “papilio” is a unique and ambitious project that is sure to resonate with listeners of all ages. It is a musical journey that explores the themes of youth, innocence, and reflection in a thoughtful and creative way.
