Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow album cover art

“Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” by David Moore : David tugs at your heartstrings with this mesmerising masterpiece.

Hailing from Dallas, Texas David Moore is singer/songwriter who is also an multi-instrumentalist, playing everything from guitars to drums, he does it all recording, editing, producing, mixing and mastering on all of his work.

Following the success of his debut release “Seventeen”, “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” is his second album which is packed with 10 mesmerising tracks which range from acoustic to rock with hints of folk and country sprinkled all over it, which takes you through an enchanting journey while offering a euphoric listening experience.

The album’s opening track “Our trips in the sun” starts of with natural ambient noises which instantly transports you to a serene setting, with the sound of water hitting the shore and the birds chirping in the background, soft acoustic guitars take over as you embark on this blissful listening experience which has a hint of country and folk to it. Followed by “All I Ask” which is love ballad where the lover asks for reassurance, it has a groovy drum beat that keeps you hooked till the end.

“Christine” David’s dreamy vocals are the highlight of this track, but the song goes to another level once the beat kicks in, this song explores the weird phase that sometimes come in the beginning of a relationship, where are so many things left unsaid all we do is keep contemplating over tiny things. “You” kicks of with a guitar solo and features poetic lyrics which portray the thoughts while reminiscing one’s beloved. “Down by the sea” describes the feeling of being trapped and seeks liberation, it describes how when one is lost all they want, is to be found. “The Lemming song” has a unique approach, as it starts off on a rather upbeat tone, lyrically it talks about we are no different from animals who just give into our most intrusive thoughts and impulses and then suffering the consequences of it.

But a track that really stood out for me was “Rhyme or Reason’, along with an impressive ‘rhyme’ scheme, it has a catchy chorus that will have you singing along in no time. Although my favourite track has to be “Wordly girl” which poetically portrays the emotion of a lover who finds himself worshipping the “Worldly Girl” and begs the question What can he do to prove his love? and expresses his disappointment as he fails to show his devotion towards the ‘Worldly girl’. The story driven lyrics of “Evil Weed” will keep you engaged throughout the music

Last but not the least we have the title track “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” which talks about being resilient, gratitude and hope bringing this euphoric listening experience to an end.

“Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” is an absolute delight for the ears and a must listen for everyone, as it explores widely relatable themes that are sure to stay with listener. So I highly recommend you give this mesmerising album a spin and lose yourself to this masterpiece created by David Moore.
