After his work with “Fate and Stitches”, Dave Barrett’s life took over, between family and work, his guitar was left stranded in a corner gathering dust, writing was the last thing on his mind. He’d reminisce about his days in the band while carrying out the most mundane household chores, but as fate would have it he was reunited with music when our world came to a standstill during covid. Within a year Dave had a notebook full of songs, which became the genesis of his latest album “Stockton Ave” Vol 1 packed with 14 songs that are sure to sweep you off your feet.

“The entire album is like a breath of fresh air, the instrumentation throughout the album is highly commendable and I can’t wait for the second Volume of this musical masterpiece.”

The album starts of on an upbeat note with it’s opening track called “Dance with me” which will surely have you grooving to it’s tunes in no time. Followed by the title track “Stockton Ave” which showcases an impressive trumpet solo. A track that really stood out for me was “Remedy”. Album’s closing track “Heroes of our day” has a nostalgic vibe to it, every song in this album is unique because of Dave’s story driven lyricism. The entire album feels like a breath of fresh air, the instrumentation throughout the album is highly commendable and I can’t wait for the second Volume of this musical masterpiece. So I highly recommend you give this album a spin right away.
