Coma Beach is a punk rock/alternative rock band from Würzburg, Germany. The band was founded by singer B. Kafka, guitarist Captain A. Fear and drummer M. Lecter, with bassist U. Terror and rhythm guitarist M. Blunt completing the lineup. The five main themes that are prevalent COMA BEACH’s music are shock, chaos, pain, wrath, and solitude. The eerie promise of a truly unusual experience is already present in their album’s title, “The Scapegoat’s Agony,” an ominous-sounding homage to Samuel Beckett’s literary works. Their compositions often blur the lines between punk rock and alternative rock.

Coma Beach’s opening track “The Past Of The Future” is eerie, gripping, and pleasantly disturbing to say the least. At the song’s beginning, you will feel like you are watching a typical Cowboy film in which two Cowboy anti-heroes are intensely gazing at each other in a face-off and they start battling it out once the beat drops and the music gets intense. The vocals are coarse, the music feels intense, the beats are heart throbbing, and one is bound to go into a trance while listening to this gut-wrenching song. Coma Beach tries to create an atmosphere where loss and sorrow prevail in the present, the past, and the future. Lyrics like “You really want to die In a slimy world of honey Not willing to change Anything with all your money?” will haunt you after you listen to this song.
Imagine you are on a late night drive on an empty road or you are executing an intensive, rageful workout and you are unable to find an apt song that compliments your mood and intensity, and that’s when a song like ‘Nothing Right’ by Coma beach comes into play (quite literally). It’s a satire on how absurd the human civilisation is and the futility of trying to make sense of a world that often defies explanation. The album’s closing track, “The Final door”, is a fitting end to this intense and emotionally charged rollercoaster of a journey. The song talks about death and afterlife.
