Data.Soul is a collaborative Indie-pop music project created by singer-songwriter and composer Shane Regan, producer Thomas Patas (based in Athens), and musician Selen Korkutan. Regan’s musical exposure in Dublin, London and Athens inspires the project. Their tracks “Bird”, “Don’t Knock Knock” and “Cigarettes After Dark” experiment with blending indie-rock, soul, and variations in electronic textures. It’s a refreshing global take on combining electronic music with human depth. The intent to create masterful and cinematic musical experiences stands out in their work. The EP is just as much about sonic emotion as it is about conceptual experimentation.

“Finding yourself becomes easier when a song like “Cigarettes After Dark” is playing in the background.”
“Cigarettes After Dark”, the latest single by Data.Soul sits comfortably in the dream pop genre. It is a 3 a.m. car drive music. It’s introspective, fun, and feels like a hearty bite into your favourite dessert. It blends cinematic notes with emotionally charged lyricism that hits home throughout the track. It encapsulates themes of yearning, steamy memories and late-night thoughts. The sultry vocal texture by Selen Korkutan had me walking down the memory lane over and over as the song played. It’s a slow-burning romance that makes you relive the best worst decisions you’ve ever made. Overall, it’s a joyful experience for music lovers.
