Sonya Rising Emerges from the Flames with “Drown In Ashes”

Sonya Rising’s crew has been soaking up influences from nu metal heavyweights like Deftones and the emotional punch of Breaking Benjamin, creating their own brand of unfiltered rock that doesn’t mess around. After spending a year locked in at Woodshop Productions, they’ve finally unleashed “Drown In Ashes”, and it’s worth the wait.

“Some people don’t just burn bridges. They torch the entire landscape and wonder why they’re alone.”

“Drown In Ashes” isn’t your typical “rise from the ruins” anthem. It’s brutally honest about what happens when you’re the one lighting the matches. The song tells the story of someone who destroys everything and everyone in their path, only to find themselves standing alone in the debris.

The guitars come in heavy, carrying that nu metal DNA. There’s genuine anger here, but it’s controlled, channeled into riffs that land with precision. The vocals shift between restrained tension and full-throated release, perfectly capturing that internal battle between denial and acceptance.

After a year of fine-tuning their sound, Sonya Rising has taken the blueprint from their influences and built something entirely their own. “Drown In Ashes” proves they’re digging into real emotional territory and coming out with something genuinely compelling.

Sonya Rising is doing something real here, and “Drown In Ashes” is just the beginning.
