DedFACE is the Riga-based artist who’s been making a name for himself in the underground rap industry since 2023. Dmitrijs Vasenovs talks openly about his mental health, particularly his F44 Dissociative Complaint Opinion. His latest music is more on the “Angelcore” vibe.

Now, onto his brand-new release, “Вероника” itself and wow, this one hurts in the best way. The song tells the story of DedFACE feeling stuck in a never-ending cycle of confessing his feelings to this girl named Veronica, who keeps on shutting him down. Sung in Russian, the chorus hits you with a simple but depressing line about wanting to confess his love every day of the week and hoping that January (the month that is used somewhat like a character here) would somehow make them work. It’s been a while since they last saw each other, but she still remains in his head. He refers to this as a temporal loop.” Here’s what gets me about “Вероника” is that, DedFACE isn’t begging. He is weirdly at peace with the rejection because, as he sings in the verses, he is used to it by now.
If you’re into angelcore music, give “Вероника” a listen. DedFACE proves he’s an artist worth paying attention to.
