Let’s talk about Veanea for a second. If you haven’t heard of her yet, here’s what you need to know: she’s a Czech composer who’s been quietly making waves in the Christian music space, racking up streams in over 130 countries. Not bad for someone creating worship music from Europe.

“When something precious catches the light just right, you can’t help but stop and stare.”
Now, onto her brand-new release, “The Pearl.” Veanea teamed up with worship leader Eric Haley on this one, and you can tell they were on the same wavelength. “The Pearl” uses this beautiful metaphor about finding something so valuable that it changes everything. That’s what this song captures.
The verses have this exploratory feel, like you’re searching for something just out of reach. The production choices throughout are smart. Each instrument and vocal layer has its place, creating this immersive experience that rewards repeated listens.
If you’re someone who loves artists like NEEDTOBREATHE or Rend Collective but wishes they’d push the production envelope a bit more, this track is calling your name. “The Pearl” is proof that Christian music doesn’t have to sound like everything else in the genre.
We had a chance to do an interview as well and here’s how it went-
1. What was the exact moment when “The Pearl” started taking shape? Was it a melody, a lyric, or something else entirely?
A- The decisive role in this song was definitely the story behind it. One summer morning, while walking through my hometown, God touched my heart in a very personal way. I found myself daydreaming about the sea and the coastline. We live in the heart of Europe and don’t have the sea nearby, yet we long for it. I imagined ships and a harbor – and suddenly I was standing at
a bus stop.
I looked around, and God allowed me to see the people around me with eyes full of compassion. There’s a hospital close by, and many people pass through that area feeling sick, tired, and discouraged. In that moment, I felt a deep urge to pray for them – and suddenly, a melody came. It fit perfectly with a chorus I had already been singing for some time.
The vision of the coastline connected with the people right in front of my eyes, and I suddenly knew the song was about a pearl. I imagined a fisherman who had found a pearl, and at the same time I realized how precious Jesus Christ is – the greatest Pearl—who gave us eternal life and loves people so deeply. At home, sitting at the piano, I finished the song.
I also realized that sometimes life feels like being on a stormy sea, so I replaced the fisherman with a sailor. It felt playful and meaningful at the same time. Music and lyrics grew hand in hand. I love that the song carries both a story and a message. I immediately knew that Eric Haley – the talented singer and producer I collaborate with – was the perfect voice for this song. The Pearl is our third song together.
2. There’s a shift in the song from searching to finding. How did you translate that journey into the actual sound and structure?
A- That shift is deeply connected to the story the song carries. From the beginning, I wanted listeners to reflect on what the pearl means – not only in the song, but in their own lives. The message is revealed in the final verse, so the song can continue in the listener’s mind even after the music fades.
The pearl is not only a symbol of God’s Kingdom and eternal life – it is, above all, God’s Son, Jesus Christ Himself. He gave His life for humanity, fulfilled God’s miraculous plan, and reconciled people with God. On the third day, He was resurrected, and everyone can encounter Him as the living God. There is nothing more beautiful than having such a personal friend – and at the same time knowing the Creator of the universe.
The invitation at the end of the song is for everyone. The Pearl of eternal life is available to all of us. We can experience God’s Kingdom already here on earth and receive His blessing in every area of life. The arrangement is built so listeners can step into both the story and the melody.
3. What was the hardest part about getting “The Pearl” to sound exactly how you envisioned it?
A- Honestly, the song sounds exactly the way I imagined it – the story, the beautiful guitars, and the unique synth sounds. I pray over every project, and God truly leads the entire process. The collaboration was wonderful, and we didn’t face any difficult or stressful moments while working on this song.
There were only some minor vocal adjustments, and during the recording we creatively shaped the transition section, which I absolutely love – those moments of musical discussion and discovery. After that, everything flowed smoothly. Beautiful harmony. I’m deeply grateful to God for this song and for such an amazing collaboration.
4. Your background is in classical piano, but your sound is very contemporary. How do you balance those two worlds?
A- As a child, I studied piano at an elementary music school and completed one full cycle. Later, I stepped away from music and devoted myself to gliding – I literally swapped the piano for
a glider. I returned to the piano through worship in the church, where I knew that worship was exactly the ministry I was called to.
I grew up in an atheist family, and shortly after the Velvet Revolution in the Czech Republic,
I accepted Jesus Christ through the ministry of Christian missionaries and became part of
a worship team in a newly formed local church. I always longed for worship to be dynamic, modern, beautiful, and truly for God’s glory.
Every one of my songs begins with a piano melody – everything starts at the piano. Today, we have incredible possibilities when it comes to sound design and production. I truly believe that modern worship is a powerful tool through which God touches human hearts.
5. Mark 11:24 and 1 Corinthians 2:9 inspire your work. How do these specific scriptures show up in “The Pearl”?
A- Mark 11:24 influences my entire life. When you stand on God’s promises, He acts in real life. I believe that every prayer aligned with God’s will is answered. Prayer is a powerful weapon – it changes circumstances, and God performs miracles we could never even imagine. This is the reality of life with God. He loves people and desires the very best for them.
That connects deeply with 1 Corinthians 2:9. God has already surprised me simply by allowing songs to be written through me – I couldn’t have imagined this a few years ago. A very significant moment for my ministry was the Fire Conference in Prague with Colombian pastors Ricardo and Patty Rodriguez. I knew something fundamental had changed in my life, especially regarding music.
Since then, I’ve been living in a beautiful world of melodies flowing like a river. In The Pearl, God surprised me not only with the melody, but also with that powerful moment in the city – when He let me feel His love for people and revealed how much meaning can be hidden in
a single pearl, and how that can be shared through a song.
6. If someone’s never heard your music before, what’s the one thing you want them to feel after listening to “The Pearl”?
A- My music is a prayer set to song and a message I’ve received: “Sharing the gospel through song from the heart to the whole world.”
I long for my songs to carry the message of Jesus Christ – so that anyone can invite Him into their life and receive eternal life. They begin in the heart and spread from the heart of Europe.
My deepest desire is that listeners would reflect on how precious Jesus Christ truly is – the ultimate Pearl. And even if someone has never heard my music before, I pray that God would touch their heart and transform the situation they are going through. They may be in the middle of life’s wild waves – but God wants to calm them and bring peace.
I warmly invite everyone to listen to The Pearl, and I believe God will move powerfully through it.
