Based between Milan and London after a decade of music studies in the British capital, Richard Green has been building something special since 2021. He moves between classical, jazz, blues, and experimental sounds that tell the stories the way they need to be told.

“The hardest part of growing up is realizing that being different isn’t the problem, thinking it’s a problem is.”
“Just Different” is part of Green’s trilogy project called “A Journey,” and it tackles something we’ve all experienced but don’t always talk about: that awkward phase of adolescence when you feel like you don’t quite fit in anywhere. You know the feeling, when everyone else seems to have it figured out, and you’re just… different. The word “just” in the title isn’t accidental. He’s gently reminding us that different doesn’t mean defective. It’s simply different, and that’s perfectly okay.
The track blends classical arrangements with blues and jazz influences. The music moves through anyone who’s struggled with self-acceptance. It sits with that discomfort and gradually transforms it into something else, not quite acceptance, maybe, but understanding.
The fact that “Just Different” is part of a larger trilogy makes it even more intriguing. This is just the first chapter of a three-part story, which means there’s more to discover about where Green is taking us.
Stream “Just Different” and remind yourself that the things that make you feel different are often the things that make you interesting.
