Le Comité Restreint are more like a creative think tank that happens to make music. This Paris-based collective started back in 2017 when Sabine Bouyala and Léo Pouzoulet decided that making art in just one format wasn’t cutting it anymore. Fast forward a bit, and they’ve added Geneviève Gleize, Max Imbert, and Jérémy Mahieu to the mix, creating something that’s equal parts music project, poetry reading, and art installation. Since dropping their first EP in 2019 and an album in 2021, they’ve been doing their own thing.

“Sometimes you have to lie still long enough to feel the tremor of change.”
Now they’re gearing up for a double-album called “Révolution” (dropping November 2025), and “Le Gisant” is our first proper taste of what’s coming. The track sits at number four on the album. The title translates to something like “The Lying Figure,” which sounds peaceful enough until you actually hit play. You know that feeling when you wake up from a nap and forget where you are for a second? Kind of like that, but make it experimental electronic music. Le Comité Restreint plays with this push and pull between being totally still and suddenly moving, stuck in the dark and finding the light.
If this track is any indication of what “Révolution” has in store, we’re in for a ride. So grab your headphones, find a quiet spot, and let “Le Gisant” do its thing.
