Black Silver’s “It Was Written” Sets the Tone for New Album

Black Silver, better known as The Navigator, has been putting in work in the hip-hop game for years. He’s a veteran rapper who has collaborated with Ice-T on the Black Ice project, and he has proven that he knows how to balance the business side with the creative grind.

“What’s written stays written, but how you read it is up to you.”

“It Was Written” is Black Silver’s latest drop, also produced by DJ Obi, someone Silver’s been working with for a minute. Following his August release “Sands of Time,” this single is setting things up for his winter album, An Evolved Experience. The track opens up on heavy topics such as fate, clarity, and self-reflection. As he puts it, “This ain’t just music, it’s a mirror.” And that’s true. This is conscious rap done right without feeling like you’re being schooled.

DJ Obi’s production has got that darker edge to it that makes you want to keep it on repeat, especially if you’re tired of the same old repetitive rap songs flooding your feed.

Black Silver is showing us that evolution in hip-hop doesn’t always have to be about chasing trends or fame. It also means staying true to your work while pushing yourself forward.
