A fine musical artist who can touch the audience’s heart with his raw and unhinged music, Owen Young is a true musician who grew up in Southern Ontario. Owen Young studied fine arts at UCLA and law at the University of Toronto. Now back to his roots, Owen Young lives on an acreage on the Grand River making music that is a blessing for anyone who hears and the kind of work he puts out makes you wonder why he is not a global sensation yet. But I believe some gems are so precious because they have not yet been discovered by the masses. When I imagine young, sitting in nature, doing what he loves, and making such precious music, I can’t help but smile. His album “Three” is the third part of his four-part album of original songs following “On A Day Like That” and “Town Line”. This album was born during COVID-19 both out of love and frustration. We feel proud to have listened to this wonderful album and are thrilled to share our experience with you here at Muse Chronicle.
“Owen Young brightens the musical world and blesses the audience with a beautiful sonic experience in his latest album Three.”
Consisting of only three tracks, the album “Three” by Owen Young does not need any more songs to sweep the listeners off their feet with the power of music. Like a lotus in a swamp, this beautiful album was born in Covid, as hope and achievement both for the artist and the listeners alike. The three songs in the album cover a whole emotional spectrum, from love to longing and blues, the album carries the listeners through different moods, every chord piercing through the listener. Owen’s voice echoes deep in the heart in a beautiful display of vocal prowess and soft instrumental melodies take the album to a new height. Written with so much passion, the lyrical genius of this song cannot be comprehended and deserves applause. The last song, “That Could Have Been You” made me a fan and you will know why when you listen to it. This is an album that one absolutely should not miss! Go catch it now!
