The Afro Nick is Greek by ethnicity and outstanding in talent. He grew up on a small island called Crete and his lyrics often refer to his memories from childhood. He grew up as a rebellious child and that wild energy stays with him through adulthood. This rebellious attitude explains the artist’s most prominent feature, which has to be his long and curly hair. In 2009, Nick formed a band called “Stary Blue” and toured across his island creating history as one of the first Indie-Rock band tours in Crete. He makes music for the unaddressed and the overlooked, who do not fit in the social dynamics and find music to be a companion in their struggles of life.

“The Afro Nick is an artist that doesn’t know boundaries in music. His creative expressions result in exceptional sound and his aura is unmatched.”
‘Get There Before Noon (LA Mix)’ is the kind of music that I have never heard before. Each section brings something new, with electronic elements and sound effects that create a digitalized retro atmosphere. Nick’s voice is heavy and hits the ears with impact. The inspiration behind the song is simple, he woke up late one day after his long hangout at his apartment in NYC with a hangover but had to arrive before noon to record for another artist. That sense of urgency makes us realize that we must seize the day before it is too late. The beautiful composition and the various accents that the guitar catches are incredible.
