Track Dogs can light up anyone’s mood with rhythmic music pieces full of instrumental excellence and lyrics that touch the hearts. The band comprises four members namely- Garrett Wall, Dave Mooney, Howard Brown, and Robbie K. Jones. Their songs heavily use acoustic guitars along with trumpets, cajón, banjo, ukulele, mandolin, and harmonized vocals creating a feel-good atmosphere for the listeners. The ensemble’s genesis can be dated back to 2006. Since then, they have explored their musical landscape to finally attain an enchanting signature sound. The band likes to attribute their inspirations to genres like Americana, bluegrass, Latino, folk, and blues.

Apart from extraordinary studio records, the band members are avid performers. Setting the stage on fire with their stellar renditions, at prestigious festivals like Shrewsbury Folk Festival, Wickham Music Festival, and Glastonbury. In 2025, the band is planning to release The ‘Essential Track Dogs: Tracks Laid’, which will showcase nearly 40 songs including originals, covers and re-imagined versions.

‘A Christmas Card’ is an album that encapsulates the festive sparkle that is spread during the time of Christmas. It starts with ‘Tex MeXmas’ which is a jolly vibe with a catchy chorus and lyrics that describe all the sumptuous dishes and beverages that we enjoy during the time of Christmas. The sweet trumpet melodies and rhythmic guitar strums fill the room with good vibes (That is what the whole album does in fact). The song is accompanied by a fun music video that you must surely watch and enjoy.

The second track from the album is my personal favourite. Called ‘The Night Before Christmas’, it starts with a section that sounds like a vintage sample which smoothly transitions into the vocals. Aptly describing the excitement that bursts in our hearts and the divine energies that we experience, one night before Christmas; the song is a storytelling marvel.

The other songs that follow are the band’s classic Christmas songs that they have been performing for the last 14 years. Each song carries a story and doesn’t fail to justify the jubilant Christmas atmosphere. The album is an example of the band’s creativity as they infuse their signature style into the Christmas vibe and present us with a project for the festivity.
