The Sea At Midnight is a very creative duo from Los Angeles. The music group consists of singer/songwriter Vince Grant, with production by Chris King of Cold Showers and Kai Tak. They make songs that transcend genre boundaries by incorporating inspirations from post-punk, new wave and synth-pop into their rock framework. Some of their highly acclaimed works include a song called ‘Medicine’ with a retro-modern bass line and synth sounds that give an intergalactic vibe.

“While sprinkling an essence of electronic synth sounds, the duo makes sure to keep the rawness alive in their songs. This is what sets them apart and this is what makes them The Sea at Midnight.”
Firstly, I would like to talk about the simple yet impactful cover art chosen for the song. It has a drawing of a dried-out tree, waiting to be showered with water to be able to grow its leaves and survive in times of scarcity. Wait For Rain is a warning alarm for all the humans who are mindlessly destroying the nature and climate change that we are experiencing as a result. The rock-inspired acoustic drums and synth melodies catch you in the feels. The vocal texture of the singer resembles KISS the band and emotively expresses the concerns mentioned above. The song is a great step towards raising awareness in the listeners regarding our doomed future if we continue on the path that we currently are embarked on as a society.
