His musical influences range from many different genres and he beautifully blends them to create his unique and fresh sound.

‘Thousands Λway’ is the concluding track from Dimock’s latest album ‘ON ICE’. Talking about the album is a project full of raw emotions that we humans experience when we come in close contact with a thing called love. The passion, heartbreak and self-reflection that happen when going through a phase of love are well portrayed by the artist in this project. His music is a sweet blend of indie, fold and pop. The lyrics in the songs are extremely personal and the storytelling style is vulnerable which makes the album even more relatable for the listeners. The theme is pretty common but the perspective that the artist offers through his thoughtful lyrics is pretty unique. When I was listening to the album for the first time, the story that JDimock was telling seemed to be mine and it might feel the same for you if you have ever lost in the game of love in your life.

One of my favourites from the album (Thousands Away) is the track that we are going to talk about in detail in this blog. The song is literally a masterpiece. Each line is filled with emotions and describes the emotional and physical distance that follows a break-up. The song is written in a very interesting conversational format. The emotional turmoil and the warmth and intimacy that love made you feel at a point in time are all covered through this conversation. The instrumentals stood out for me. The use of crisp guitar chords and vocal chops that add space and feel to the track, create a soul-stirring musical piece. You must listen to the whole album in one go to get the right feel of the project and fully feel what the artist wanted to say with his work.
