Mark Monjito is a Singer/Songwriter from the United States of America. He is gifted with a heavenly voice that can loosen anyone into a blissful state. Mark has been active in the folk music scene since the mid-1960s playing his original songs in clubs and festivals during a time when folk music was fusing with rock and roll. As per Mark, he was influenced by artists like Jackson Browne, Tom Waits, and JD Souther. After a long break in music, Mark entered the scene once again with his album “History” and has been active again since then. When I hear artists like Mark Monjito, I say my thanks to the Gods for this job where I get to discover such brilliant lesser-known artists who put their soul into their art. I cannot begin to count how many times I have listened to “If I Get to Heaven”. Mark’s husky voice is something to fall in love with and the way he sings will give anyone goosebumps. The album is a beautiful compilation of songs with soul-touching melodies and lyrics that will tear you up. My personal favorite “Picture This” sent me into a whole different world that made me feel the emotions that I never knew were there. The entire album is a roller coaster ride which is like changing seasons where you experience a variety of weather in a single lifetime. This album feels like sunshine sometimes and pouring rain sometimes, the time slows down when you hit the play button on this one. Astonishingly, Mark Monjito sends so many important messages to humankind with just one album. To achieve true happiness, you need nothing but a glass of whiskey and this album.
