sssiv – sssiv 1: This band is poised to take over the hearts of all Alt-Rock Fans

sssiv is an artistic rock band from Denmark, Copenhagen. The members of the band are- Sara (drums), Stephen (bass, guitar), and Sasha (guitar, bass). The concept behind the band is to create spontaneous, pure, dreamy, and upbeat music. The band tries to keep the raw feel alive by letting the imperfections add beauty to their tracks. They use vocal harmonies very creatively in their tracks. Just like their music, the birth of the band was also a very spontaneous yet natural process. The three started the band together after a two-hour-long improvisation in a studio in Copenhagen. Since that day, they came to the same page and started crafting songs together and creating a story along the way. If you are getting introduced to them for the first time, you are in for a treat. They will provide you with so many different musical flavors that you will feel overwhelmed.

sssiv - sssiv 1

“sssiv has brought an improvised and authentic sound for us. Each song is crafted with love and artistic consideration.”

‘sssiv 1’ is the band’s debut album that starts will an instrumental master piece called ‘january entry’. The seamless shift from the first track to the second one (‘memory boy’) is incredible. Their songs have improvised themes that build on the process of making the music. This way, the band avoids the artistic boundaries as they get an open field to play with music and lyricism. Their songs are created out of live recorded instruments and evolving moods and topics. The songs have the ability to make you feel meditative and let you introspect. The songs are at the center of a cultural intersection and you can hear so many various influences in their music.

‘memory boy’ starts with a smooth drum roll followed by a slow groove and profound keys. The beautifully sung telephonic female vocals create a nostalgic atmosphere. The laidback guitar leads and harmonized vocal layers make up for an outworldly listening experience.

‘false harmonics’ is the 5th song from the album and comes in with a unique energy. The song shows the contrast between the dark and the bright side. Thus, it is a perfect song that bridges the vibrational gap between ‘sea salt’ (which is a more vibey and chill track) and ‘been better’ (which has an extremely intense tune).
