“With bold lyricism and the voice of today’s generation, Edie Yvonne presents us with an elaborate EP filled with charm.”
Edie Yvonne has cracked the code of the pop sound and her voice perfectly compliments the energy packed grooves presented in her songs. She has released an EP recently which talks about the various emotions and circumstances that teenagers face on a regular basis and that is what maker this project highly relatable. The EP features some remarkable tracks like 2U and Duh produced in collaboration with Nicky Swedin and Cormac Liotta.
2U starts off with a heavy guitar riff which is contrasted by Edie’s smooth vocal delivery. The up-beat drums will make you bop your head (this is true for all the songs from the EP). Duh is a more slower and vibey track. The soft drums and a superb melodic delivery by the singer sound amazing. The track called ‘Queen Bee’ from the EP brings some retro pop elements with a modern crispy touch. The use of harmonies on this one is out of this world. Each track brings a new feel yet makes a complete picture together.
Self-confidence oozes out of each word as Edie sings them. She is an inspiration for many queens who have lost their self-love because of the circumstances and the society. The EP concludes with a heart-felt single called ‘Girl Code’. The song encapsulates the feelings of betrayal, and disappointment pretty well. With catchy lyrics for infectious hooks, and the raw emotions portrayed in the EP, it has the best of both worlds.
