La Hora Exacta creates music that draws inspiration from different aspects of life. As life occurs, randomly, unprecedented and in an uncertain manner, their music puts forward various themes in front of us to grasp and make a perception about. Each person listening to their music is free to create their own understanding. Their music surely draws inspiration from genres like rock, classical and contemporary music styles; however, it wouldn’t be justified to put them in a particular genre. Each song slowly creeps in with intense themes and top-notch musicality. They often use slow melodies, telephonic vocals and raspy sounds from grunge rock. Some unique chord progressions and rhythms can be found in their songs which make their songs pretty unique and fresh to the ears. The vocal processing of La Hora Exacta revolves around attaining sounds that fits the particular vibe they are aiming for and this makes them experiment with new sounds and deliveries. ‘La Hora Exacta’ in Spanish means ‘The Exact time’ which according to me is a very creative choice of name. The represents the band’s ethos to translate the exact moments of life to sonic waves.

The band has done a good job with awesome sounding experimentations in their album ‘Mind Games’. They have taken elements from rock and classical music to create this master piece which is created with severely unique music production and effects that will bend your mind. Each song carries a different story which amalgamates into one album that is a purely artistic expression. Contrast in instrumentals and feels is a staple in this album. For example, in the 5th track ‘La Hora Exacta’, the tack starts off with a scary and mysterious voice speaking with sound effects that create a grungy vibe. However, seconds later, the song smoothly transforms into a female vocal driven soothing song. The unique lead sounds add a bubbly effect to the whole song. The guitar solos are also pretty well written. Percussion work on the track is also pretty awesome. It is a full-fledged 13 song album that encapsulates various themes from the human life. An album to be explored and heard many times to be fully understood and absorbed, La Hora Exacta has created a master-piece.
