Blueprint Tokyo is a two person band based in Oklahoma comprising of members- Kevin Dawson and Andrew Hale. They have post punk, emo and classic rock backgrounds which govern their sound. They obviously present it to your with their psychedelic twist. The hopefulness on their songs makes you believe in a better world. Rock music is getting a new shape with time and the Blueprint Tokyo band is being brave to present a new sound for the listeners. They borrow elements from pop, rock, indie and more to create this beautiful heart warming vibe. They take it slow with their rhythms and melodies. Each lyric is written with utmost authenticity and passion. You will feel the intensity of the music in your heart.

Blue is a five song EP by Blueprint Tokyo which encapsulates the fusion of anecdotal and fictional stories of one interacting with the modern society, technology and the changing environment. They theme of the unknown future is perfectly presented sonically by the band. Each song relates with the other, yet each has a unique aspect of its own.

The third song from the EP is called ‘Mission Control’. The track has a very strong hook, some thick guitars, rhythmic riffs and up beat drums. The hook will stay on your tongue long after you listen to the song. The contrasting loud and quieter sections of the song will make your you feel the music throughout.

My favorite from the EP is Closed Door Drama. It is a deep dee story which starts off with an emotional monologue. The seamless switch by the vocalist from the monologue to singing is so beautiful. The tonality and variety of vocal delivery used in the track adds so many dimensions to the track. It is an emotion filled jam bound to make your heart feel very deeply.

The whole project offers a very fresh sound in the rock scene. If you are a fan of Pink Floyd, you will most likely feel so connected to this band. I personally have gotten addicted to their music. The expansive and extended sonic landscape that they bring with their music is beautiful.
