“David creates such a mystical sound in his album Quest For The Runestone. The ambient instrumentals and slow vocals touch the soul and awaken deep emotions.”
Quest For The Runestone is one of the best works by David as he himself believes it to be. It is full of so many intricate instrumental sections and unique rhythms. The whole album has a flow of an underlying story. This can be explained by the creation process of the album. David had asked his son to write down a story and when he used is as a focal point to write his melodies and compose his music, this incredible album was born. After rigorous and deeply engaged sessions, David ended up with an album worth of music to be recorded. He brought in highly talented musicians like Eric Rigler (described as the most recorded bagpiper of all time who has played for movies like Breaveheart and Titanic), Luanne Homzy (a veteran violin player whose playing style roots from the classical European music).
David is a skillful instrument player and has played most of the instruments himself for the album. The album features so many instruments like the guitars, cittern, saz, flute, whistle, melodica, drums, percussion, handspan, bass, vocals and keyboards. Each instrument finds its place and evokes various emotions in the listener’s heart.
