“Overthrust’s latest release, “Infected By Myth” is a savage beauty where every track is a battle cry!”
Overthrust’s recent album, “Infected By Myth” is a manifesto of brutality, showcasing the band’s ability to channel raw, unrelenting power of classic death metal while maintaining a fresh, contemporary edge. The album’s soundscape is a homage to the genre’s glorious days bygone, walking us again through the rawness and intensity that defined early death metal. The nostalgic strain is well balanced with modern elements, making the album very relevant for contemporary listeners. From the opening track, “Fallen Witches” to the final one, “…Silenced Voices of Holy”, all the eight tracks deliver a relentless spike of dense energy that will have you banging your head from beginning to end. The guttural vocals, crushing guitar riffs and thunderous drumming propel the brutality and darkness of the themes, making this a standout piece of creativity in the death metal genre. Spenser’s guitar work is exceptionally remarkable as it cuts through the dense wall of sound. The album rises like a wave and by the time the final note is reached, the listeners are left exhausted and exhilarated!
If you like listening to songs with spine-chilling riffs with brooding vocals, this album is a must-listen for you!
