Kamakshi Khanna – Heartbreak 2020: Dive into the world of shiny synths and smooth guitars with Kamakshi

Kamakshi Khanna is a very talented musician from the city of Bombay, India. She makes soulful, wholesome track filled with substance and deep stories you surely would connect to. She has performed in headliner events like the VH1 Supersonic and NH7 Weekender. She has shared the stage with maestro and the Indian legendary music composer, singer and record producer, A.R. Rahman. What she is bringing to the table is grand, magical and soulful if I describe it simply. The themes she chooses are emotionally charged and makes you want to revisit the times when you were going through the same feelings. She is a pro when it comes to connecting with the audience with her story. If you love listening to immersive tracks that sound very dreamy and intense in their essence, you are bound to fall in love with Kamakshi Khanna’s music.

“A cute 4-track EP that will stay in your mind long after you are done listening to it, Heartbreak 2020 is here to win over you. It is filled with exceptional storytelling and music that connects with the heart.

The project starts off and picks up the pace with the upbeat synth-wave track- ‘I Blew It’. The song revolves around reminiscing about the lost opportunity of having that one person in your life. The artist tells herself what she would do differently if she got another chance if she hadn’t burnt the bridges. The music will get you moving. In spite of the sad lyrics, the vibe suggests otherwise and the contrasting ideas will make the track fun to hear for you.

My personal favorite track from the EP is ‘Tourist’. The song starts off with raw and textured guitar strums, eventually building into a electronic, acoustic blended instrumental. Kamakshi relates her loved one with a tourist in her life probably because of the temporary nature of her relationship with this particular someone. The pain is heard through her voice. She is a brilliant singer who can convey any emotions and can make the listeners feel so much.
