John Michael Hersey identifies himself as a story teller first. His music speaks the same. He conveys some really interesting stories that would get you hooked for real. He is a pro when it comes to blending genres. He presents the world with a mix of rock, pop, folk, blues and groovy country music. Hailing from Pelham, NY, Hersey is poised with some serious musical skills. The instrumentalization of his songs are what draws my attention the most. Each element is placed perfectly to match the feel of the track. The inter-bound layers of various instruments operate in every area of the frequency spectrum giving your ears a holistic listening experience. His themes revolve around real life experience that a regular human being go through. His music is inspiring, joyful, loaded and expansive. Perfect for long rides, you can actually add his songs to your travel playlist.

“Soft, classical rock presented in a beautiful way. Hersey is killing it with his musically charged album- Footprints.”
Footprints is a pure piece of art. The wide sounding music which is full of pleasant varieties will enhance your listening experience. The guitar work on the whole album is top notch. The accents in which the instruments are played will blow your mind. John flexes his storytelling skills in the whole project.
My favorite story telling song from the album is ‘Tuesday Is Blues Day’. The song is about reminiscing and sharing the grief of loosing a loved one. He talks about how he met a girl in a cafe and eventually fell in love with her, mesmerized by her looks and the way she carried herself. It was love and as you know it is a loosing game. The same way, our protagonist gets disheartened in love and decides to dedicate Tuesdays (The day on which he got his heart broken) to being heartbroken and experiencing the blues.
Listen to the album and find out how it fits your music taste. The album has everything a good project should have for all the classic rock fans. Let us know your favorite tracks from the album in the comments section.
