In 2019, Luc Erwin and Fabrice Duval, former members of the band Tax Free, teamed up with Didier Hoffman on drums to form Skycall. Hoffman was subsequently replaced by Amanda S. in 2020. The band is particularly influenced by rock icons like Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and Santana, as well as folk legends Bob Dylan and Neil Young. They have played on various radio shows including Deal Radio, Montreal Radio Cite, Caviar Musical, Culturall, Vitrolaplay, and Copperstone Music. Despite their immense success, the band disbanded in 2023 with members pursuing personal projects. However, Fabrice Duval is continuing the band’s original vision.
“Skycall’s recent track, “Wendy” portrays life like a phoenix, all you need is inner strength to rebuild it.”
Skycall’s new single, “Wendy” showcases Fabrice Duval’s multifaceted talents as a producer, composer and performer. The track tells the story of a woman named Wendy, who struggles with disillusionment resulting from her broken dreams. She frequently escapes into artificial paradises but is abruptly brought back to harsh reality when the effects fade. “Wendy”, with its charming lyrics and rich musical arrangements, is a song full of optimism and shines through as a metonymy for inner strength.
If you like music with an optimistic edge, this song is definitely the right fit for you!
