Dr Dawsound’s Amor De Verano is the song for love in summer time

Dr Dawsound, a veteran beat maker/producer from Marseille, France constructs melodies and rhythms note by note and flexes on the fact that he doesn’t use loops and samples. His space is the pop and retro-modern sound. His music will make anyone wanna dance. However, music production is not the only skill Doctor possesses, he is also an excellent lyricist/ song-writer. His catchy hooks and heart-throbbing verses will leave you waiting for more.

Dr Dawsound

“Move you legs to the vibey Spanish hook in Dr Dawsound’s new single Amor De Verano from his album Universal Love.”

Doctor generally makes vintage style dance pop music but experiments with his musical forte by trying out Latino/Reggaeton in his single Amor De Verano. The lyrics are fun and feel-good. It actually feels how love feels in the summer time. The poppy and shiny beats will not let you attention go anywhere else while you are listening to the song. The smooth and texture filled vocals and harmonies by the singer has a particular swing in itself which attracted me to the song. If you in awe of artists like FloyyMenor and Myke Towers, you are gonna love this track. The song starts with a repetitive pluck and later a lot of elements like drums, synths and strings come in, holistically making the track sound extravagant.

Catch a muse down here-

We had a chance to interview the artist and get to know him and his music better. This is how it went-

1.What do you think is the main requirement for a track to be called a dance song?

ANS: A dance piece brings together musical genres associated with a festive, artistic or spiritual dance practice. In my music it’s Pop Dance with a vintage touch.

      2. Do you keep any boundaries for yourself while you make music so that you sound a specific way?

ANS: No technical limits but artistic limits in order to stay in the desired style while being original. Which is not always easy to obtain.

      3. When were you introduced to music and how?

ANS: No one around me had practiced music, so I started music very late, at 18, after buying my first organ. I was immediately attracted to composition, even though I only began to produce pieces that held water years later.

      4. Why do you make music and what is your purpose with your art?

ANS: Music is a passion for me. it allows me to forget worries and to dream and make people dream. Every minute spent in music is a minute of happiness for the listeners as well as for me. It is magic…

      5. You have collaborated with multiple international artists, which is your favorite style of music to make?

ANS: My favorite style is Pop Dance between the 80s and today. This can be tinged with various influences such as Latin pop or r&B… I choose the interpreter based on the style and message I want to convey.

      6. What is your process of making music ?

ANS: I create the pieces on my own. I generally start with a beat or a bass or chords then I build the arrangements track by track, I do the topline then the lyrics. Finally, I sing the topline (vocal guide)

      7. How do you draw inspiration for your music? Is it from other music pieces or from some other discipline ?

ANS: My inspiration comes from other artists pieces. For example :

      • Stellar Pulse is inspired by Starboy by The Weeknd.
      • Electric Heartbeat is inspired by Physical by Dua Lipa.
      • Amor de Verano is inspired by Shakira for verses and Rosalia (la Despecha) for chorus.
      • Little Girl is a tribute to Janis Joplin written with her songs titles and musically inspired by I feel it coming The weeknd feat Daft Punk…

          8. How do you connect with the artists you work with and form ideas for your songs ?

ANS: When my demo is ready, I choose and contact the future performer on Soundbetter. This one sings the lead voice of my vocal guide and adds all the necessary voices (doubles, back voices, adlibs etc…). We often end up with between 10 and 15 vocal tracks in the end. All tracks are then sent to the mix.

          9. How do you think pop music is different from other styles of music?

ANS: Each style of music has its specificities and also its fans. Pop is a softer and more melancholy version of rock which draws its influences from many musical styles. This is why pop music is one of the most listened to styles because it can appeal to many people.
