“Waxy Shellac and The Tasteless Apple’s new album “Shelf Life” is a jack of all trades!”

Waxy Shellac and the Tasteless Apples’ recently released album, “Shelf Life” is a box of chocolates, with something for people of different tastes. Written over a span of four decades, this album is a melting pot of genres be it love songs, or social satires, or awareness about side effects of drugs, or the psychology of females, or a humanitarian perspective to strive for a better life, whatever be your inclination, they have something for each one you! Recorded, mixed and mastered at Ultrasound Productions in Hanover MA by Joe Clapp (who also played outstanding lead on 3 guitar tracks), the album is influenced by musical geniuses like Todd Rundgren, Utopia, Steely Dan, Weird Al Yankovic, Bare Naked Ladies, Squeeze and Shooting Star. All the 13 songs on this album have their own unique stories to tell. “Hard To Love” hooks the listener with the very first note and once the ecstasy grips you, there is no returning back. “Codependent Me” with its slow and effortless vocals feels airy but impactful. All the songs, though scattered across genres thematically, seem to be tied together by the band’s hallmark instrumentals. The colorful palate of genres, witty lyrics, and impeccable musicianship makes the listeners laugh, introspect and rock out in equal measure.

If you like listening to diverse Rock songs, this album is your new go-to.
