Голос КАА, who has been a part of Fugu Quintet, an underground dark jazz band from Saint Petersburg has been creating music with versatility. Currently based in Singapore, he is working on his various projects creating vivid hip-hop soundscapes. His discography has a total of four releases, three EPs and one single which will surely blow your mind away. Experimenting with hip-hop and it’s subgenres, Голос КАА is constantly working towards a sound that is unheard of! I am pretty excited to watch him evolve in his craft.

I recently discovered this amazing artist through his latest release, ‘OP-1’ which is a testament to his artistic commitment. As the name suggests, the EP was crafted exclusively using the minimalistic portable OP-1 synthesizer which gives the tracks their characteristic raw sound. The EP has 3 tracks and each one of them is so unique that you’ll surely fall for the artist’s experimentation. The EP packs some great vocals but what really caught my heart was the quality of the production and the elements used. Each musical element is carefully chosen to create an everlasting vibe that is bewitching.

The EP is mixed by Achernavsky and the mastering was done by VLM, resulting in the top-notch quality of sound. The first track on the EP is my personal favorite. The track is named ‘Сквозь тернии к страху’ and revolves around the theme; that our deepest fears are often self-made. The way the artist has put such complex emotions to life is pretty amazing. The track is packed with some amazing musical structures that are brought to life using the OP-1. The way this artist carries the track and connects it to the next one will surely steal your breath away.

The next two tracks are rich in musicality and also explore vivid faces of life with exquisite lyricism. Overall, this EP is packed with some amazing sounds that are remarkable. Do give this amazing EP a spin, you’ll love it for sure.
