“Kafka in Berlin” a Musical Ode to The Great Author “Franz Kafka”

Thorax Wach is a two-man music band making music from as early as the 1980s where they had a short stint only to meet again after 40 years when they decided to make music again. The duo consists of musicians Olaf Kramer and Frank Dieckmann and made three albums together before they worked on their latest “Kafka in Berlin” dedicating their love for Franz Kafka.

Kafka in Berlin takes you on the journey into Franz Kafka’s extraordinary mind.

Thorax Wach is probably the most unique-sounding band I have listened to recently and to much of my delight every song of theirs holds your grip even if the tongue of the duo speaks a foreign language. Kafka in Berlin was partially written by Olaf Kramer and parts of it are original texts by Franz Kafka, The album’s theme revolves around Franz Kafka’s time spent in Berlin in 1923 and 1924. The album is entirely written in German and even if you don’t speak German, the music and vocals just mesmerize you to the point where you start feeling what the artist is feeling. The music has a very gothic feel to it and perfectly matches the husky vocals. You have to listen to it to justify the brilliance of the song.
